‘The Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center provides nutritious meals in a warm, safe and caring environment, free of charge, no questions asked, to anyone who comes seeking nourishment. As part of our hospitality we also encourage and assist our guests in accessing community resources, services and educational programs.’
The Community Soup Kitchen (in operation since 1984) receives NO government funding, but relies on financial support such as ours, to remain open 365 days a year.
Their ‘Free Farmers Market’ provides fresh fruit, vegetables and meat for guests to take home three times a week. Due to a generous grant from the Fannie E. Rippel Foundation, they ‘rescue’ produce from Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Stop & Shop, and local farms.
In addition, advise your company to sign up for the ‘Sponsor the Day’ program. A donation of $2,500 covers the costs to open the doors and to serve a noon-time meal! Join the 100 companies who have participated in this unique opportunity to get involved and give back to the community!
